Lyft to Offer Monthly Subscription Service

Ride sharing service Lyft has announced a new subscription-based payment service. The service has been in an experimental state in Seattle for a while now, but is now available nationwide. For a monthly fee of $299, subscribers will receive 30 rides at no additional charge. The catch is that the rides can only go up to a distance that would normally cost $15. If the ride goes above the $15 limit, the customer will need to pay the difference out of pocket.

Theoretically, if a customer were to use all 30 rides in a month without going over the $15 limit, they could save about $150 on regular Lyft expenses. “The All-Access plan is a great option for passengers who are frequently using Lyft – whether that’s getting to and from work, the gym or running errands,” Katie Dill, Lyft VP of Design said to The Verge. “This is the first step toward delivering on our goal of making car ownership optional and we’re constantly looking for more ways to provide passengers with the easiest, most convenient options possible.”
