Long-Range Airbus Planes Will Soon Change The Way We Travel

Air travel has come a long way, and while we’ve learnt so much already, the nature of air travel is still changing.

In the modern world, we’re starting to realize that bigger doesn’t always equal better, and Airbus is working to make this idea a reality.

Airbus has launched a long-range version of its A321neo jet, which will change air travel. When it comes to long-distance flights, airlines use bigger planes to transport more people at the same time, allowing them to cut costs on fuel as well. The thing is, when it comes to long-distance flights, fuel efficiency isn’t necessarily restricted to larger aircraft. Airbus’s newest addition boasts excellent fuel efficiency thanks to several developments in aviation technology. Airbus is claiming to be the world’s “Longest range single-aisle airliner,” and American Airlines just ordered 50 of them, according to CNBC.

The A321neo offers the airline industry great value due to its fuel efficiency, offering 30% less fuel burn per seat when compared to their earlier aircraft. Furthermore, even though the plane burns far less fuel than its predecessors, it can travel about 15% more distance than the A321LR. This will allow for new intercontinental routes that would previously have been too expensive to fly. For example, new routes could be opened up between major US cities and smaller cities in Europe which would normally not warrant a direct flight path. On a global scale, we could see single-aisle aircraft taking passengers between India and Europe, or China and Australia.

According to Reuters, Airbus is hoping to sell 200 A321neo jets, which will be ready for takeoff in 2023.
