Friends of Children’s Hospital Receives $1.25M Donation from Sanderson Farms Championship

Sanderson Farms Championship has made a seven-figure donation to the Friends of Children’s Hospital through Century Club Charities. The Friends of Children’s Hospital was presented with a check for $1.25 million on Thursday during a charity event. Later at the event, a second check was written for $125,000 in memory of former Board Chairman Sidney Allen.

This isn’t a first for Century Club Charities. The group donated over $2,235,000 in 2018 through other organizations. Donations to the Friends of Children’s Hospital are going towards a new pediatric tower expected to house dozens of private neonatal intensive care unit rooms, alongside expansions to their intensive care unit, a new lobby, ten new operating rooms and better medical imaging technology. The expansions will also include an outpatient clinic and the Children’s Heart Center, which will house the hospital’s cardiovascular program. In addition, the hospital plans to hire 50-75 new staff members to begin treating patients by 2020.

Century Club Charities is the host organization for the Sanderson Farms Championship. They have also raised over $250,000 for 40 other charities across Mississippi. If you’d like to make a donation, you can reach Century Club Charities through their website.
