Two Major Beer Companies Are Headed To Court

MillerCoors and Pabst are headed to court with each other. For the last twenty years, MillerCoors has been brewing Pabst’s brand of beers. The contract between the two is coming up for renewal in 2020 and MillerCoors does not want to renew. This has left a sour taste in Pabst’s mouth and they want legal action to be taken to remedy this feud.

MillerCoors has stated that they just do not have the space to continue to brew Pabst’s line of beers. Pabst is claiming that the reason MillerCoors does not want to renew the contract is to try and take out one of it’s competitors, obviously giving them a greater share of the market. Pabst is asking that if the company refuses to renew the contract to at least work with them in good faith to help find a new production company. Without the ability to find a new company to produce their beers, Pabst would have to temporally stop production of their beers until a replacement is found.

The trial between the two companies is reported to cost about $500 billion. A outcome is expected to be decided by the end of November.
