These Jobs Pay You To Travel

Wanting to travel but not having to money for it, or not having a job that allows you enough time off to do it, can be rather frustrating. One genius idea for the travel lovers out there, occupation-wise, could be combining the two…which means finding a job that allows you to travel or, better yet, pays you to travel.

If you’re in the market for this kind of gig, here are three hot and new jobs that will literally pay you to travel (warning, they may get a little out of the ordinary):

1. Professional mermaid: yes, it’s a thing. You have to be able to hold your breath for a decent amount of time under water, and look good in a bathing suit of course. Cruise ships, resorts and theme parks are the major hubs that employ pro mermaids. They rake in around $61,000 per year.
2. Mystery hotel inspector: hospitality groups employ people to conduct quality assurance tests. You can earn up to $51,000 per year.
3. House sitter: go anywhere…literally. Just take care of the homeowners’ home!
