SpaceX Raises Another $300 Million

According to CNBC, SpaceX is raising another $314.2 million in equity funding.

While SpaceX is reportedly hoping to raise over $300 million from investors, Elon Musk has filed a document on the matter with a valuation price of $214 per share. If this round of fundraising proves to be a success, SpaceX will have raised $1.33 billion in 2019. SpaceX has so far declined to comment on the matter.

Investor interest in SpaceX has kept the project moving forward for some time now. The company has paved new roads and set new standards when it comes to privately-funded space exploration. SpaceX launched the newest Falcon Heavy rocket on Tuesday, which included LightSail 2. LightSail 2 is the first spacecraft ever to orbit the earth while being powered by solar energy. The Falcon Heavy has already launched 24 satellites, one of which carries an atomic clock for NASA.

SpaceX succeeded in reaching another milestone in rocket reusability on Tuesday, as the company caught the rocket’s falling payload off of the coast of Florida. This was a great success for Ms. Tree, the net-equipped boat that had previously come close to, but failed to salvage the payload.
