Facebook Has a New Marketing Plan For Groups

Facebook has put forward a new plan that would allow brands to create more effective groups on the platform.

The idea is expected to bring more business to the platform, but limited resources may hold some marketers off.

Groups have long been a core aspect of Facebook’s platform. Now, the social media giant is trying to re-brand itself with a new privacy-oriented outlook and privacy-related products. Marketing on Facebook’s group functions has proven quite fruitful for some companies such as Adidas, but using Facebook groups for marketing is quite different from using sponsored posts on the platform’s news feed. Now, brands are testing a pixel on the ways in which Facebook users interact with group posts.

The net result of Facebook’s recent efforts are that private groups on the platform are about to become far more important to advertisers. Just this week Facebook will redesign their app in order to place more focus on Facebook groups and stories.
