Do Food Delivery Workers Eat Their Deliveries?

A recent survey conducted by US Foods reveals a few rather unappetizing facts about food deliveries.

The survey of food delivery workers from Uber Eats, Grubhub, and others reveals that many are clearly not being paid enough or are just inconsiderate.

The survey by US Foods revealed several findings, the first of which is that 28% of food delivery app workers admit to grabbing a bite of the customer’s food. Even more admitted feeling tempted to sneak a few bites in the past. About 54% of respondents also said they at least considered having a taste after smelling deliveries in the past. As the researchers behind the study put it, “We’re sorry to report that sometimes, impulse gets the best of deliverers, and they violate their sacred duty by taking some of the food!”

The study also found that customers actually underestimate the rate at which their deliveries are being munched on. The study revealed that 21% of customers suspected a driver had a little bite or two out of their order. However, 85% of customers would like to see a ‘tamper-free’ sticker on deliveries that would be damaged if delivery workers open the delivery before it arrives at its destination.

When it comes to bad behavior from customers or the venue they work at, delivery workers have their own complaints. The biggest complaints were customers not tipping, food not being ready at their workplace, and a lack of communication with customers.
