I admit, I’m not personally an athletically-minded person. One of the proudest sporting memories in my life was in gym class when I actually caught a football pass. Yes, really.
Even so, the sporting world is fascinating, even to the uninitiated like me. So many games to watch and play, so many statistics to learn. Players all have their own strengths and weaknesses (and theme songs, occasionally); they’re almost like superheroes. And the business that goes on behind the scenes is so fast and intricate. It’s like every team owner is playing an endless game of chess with every other owner, with players, business opportunities, advertising, and the fans as pieces.
Though, all that being said, I think most sports would be more interesting if the players were robots. Like, imagine a robot pitcher shooting a ball out of its arm like a cannon, and then the robot batter’s arm turning into a giant fist or something and pounding it into the stands. Come on, that’d be pretty awesome.
