The Companies That Pay Workers To Travel the World

Nailing that “dream job” can mean one of many different things, depending on who you’re talking to.

In the modern economy, travel is important to many people, especially millennials. While many millennials would like to travel, the financial reality they’re facing stops many from doing so. So, if travel is very important to you, wouldn’t it be great to land a job that allows you to travel the world? Well, some companies might not have you travelling for work, but they’ll pay you to travel!

The World Health Organization has classified “burnout” as an “occupational phenomenon.” This is perhaps why companies like Airbnb will pay employees $2,000 in travel coupons so they can let off some steam and avoid burnout. Not every company offering employees these perks is well-known, but some companies, like Basecamp, offer amazing travel benefits. Basecamp offers employees a paid vacation to one of sixteen locations around the world if you’ve been with them for at least a year. eCommerce company Bonanza will even move its offices to a tropical location for one month out of the year for “Freedom February.” If you work for Clyde Group, you can get a five-week sabbatical with a $5,000 stipend.

These companies offer particularly good benefits for employees that value travel. However, they’re not the only companies to do so. If you’re interested in finding jobs with similar opportunities, shop around. Many companies, particularly younger companies, are offering great travel benefits like these.
