Taco Bell is Giving Away $4 Million in Scholarships

For the past three years, fast food chain Taco Bell has been giving away college scholarships as part of their “Live Mas Scholarship” program. Now, for the fourth year in a row, these giveaways will continue, granting scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 to passionate youths who may not fit the traditional molds of academic and athletic scholarships.

“Passion” is actually a focal point of this giveaway. Instead of listing academic achievements like GPA or test scores, entrants are asked to create a two-minute video detailing what it is they are passionate about in life. Anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 is permitted to enter, including Taco Bell employees. In fact, the company actually encourages its employees to enter. $1 million worth of the total scholarships have been set aside specifically for those employed at Taco Bell. Even employees who have previously won a scholarship are allowed to enter for renewal scholarships.

Applications for the giveaway are currently open, and will be until February 21st, 2019. After the judging period, the winners will be announced at an unspecified date this coming Spring. And if you don’t win this time, don’t worry; Taco Bell is planning to give out a total of $21 million in scholarships by 2021, so there will be many more chances.
