Drive a Jaguar? Land Rover will pay you for your time.

Jaguar Land Rover announced on Monday that they need driving information, and they’re willing to pay for it. Drivers will be able to earn cryptocurrency for using car services that the British auto company is testing.

Jaguar Land Rover explained in a press release that drivers can use their data in exchange for IOTA. The company is testing software that will allow drivers to own IOTA coins, which could then be redeemed for future purchases. Jaguar Land Rover wants to test ‘smart wallet’ technology, which it intends on installing in its vehicles. This could allow drivers to voluntarily report their data for IOTA coins. Data including traffic congestion information and the geographic location of potholes would be bought by the auto manufacturer from drivers, at which point it could be sold to navigation services providers and local authorities. The company also wants to launch a ride-sharing program, for which drivers could also be rewarded with crypto.

Jaguar Land Rover wants to “achieve zero emissions, zero accidents, and zero congestion,” the company stated.
