Being a workaholic is when you work so hard that you exclude yourself from everything else. A good example of this disease is Deborah Hurley a development director at York Street Project.

Just when you ended your week at 4pm on Friday, Deborah is already thinking about Monday morning of next week. Her internal clock never stops ticking when it comes to business. She runs 24 hours and 7 days a week. You go girl!

But Deborah isn’t the only one experiencing workaholic syndrome! Meet Jodi Mercedes an owner of Haven Spa and a single mother of three. Even though she is an owner of a spa, the Zen factor hasn’t always been there. However, when she has a goal, she sets her mind to it, and then there is no stopping her after that. She does whatever it takes to get the job done no matter what hour or what day.

Does this sound like you?

Well, don’t worry because here are some basic tips that can help you out:

  • Stick to what you need to achieve your own goals and not someone else’s.
  • Reward yourself for new, healthier behaviors.
  • Keep a balanced lifestyle.
  • Set reasonable daily goals.
