In an effort to make fast food even faster, companies have been rolling out mobile apps that allow you to order your food ahead of time so that when you arrive at the already fast restaurant you can instantly pick up your food and leave, already paid and everything. It’s a phenomenon that’s really catching on in popularity, but McDonald’s has decided to do it a little differently.
In an astounding attempt to increase traffic to their new mobile app, the golden arches are allowing anyone who orders from the mobile app between now and August 24th, 2018 to be entered to win free McDonald’s for life. I’m not sure if that’s a prize people should happily accept or not, but it’s definitely something.
But what does “for life” actually mean? Estimated at around $52,000 in food, you will be able to get 2 free meals from the fast food chain every week for 50 years. So if you thought “for life” meant breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, go watch “SuperSize Me” again and come back rethinking your morals. On the plus side, you get a gold-plated phone case if you win, too.
