ESPN & UFC Sign an Exclusive Agreement

In big sports-entertainment news, ESPN and UFC have entered into an exclusive agreement over the latter’s pay-per-view content.

The ESPN streaming service will soon become the the exclusive distributor of UFC pay-per-view fights.

ESPN currently has a $1.5 billion with the UFC, and it has now been extended until 2025. So from now on, you will need to have an ESPN+ subscription to be able to watch UFC PPV events. The first such event will take place on April 13th for the UFC 236. The lightweight title fight between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier will be the first UFC PPV event that is a part of the new arrangement.

Exclusive PPV events are a big source of revenue. ESPN’s arrangement with the UFC will put them in a much stronger position. Existing ESPN+ subscribers can watch UFC PPV events for $59.99 each. ESPN is offering new subscribers 12 months of ESPN+ and one UFC PPV event for $79.99. The base subscription fees will remain unchanged at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year.
