This Loose Change Could Be Worth Millions

A new archaeological find in Italy could be worth millions according to anthropological analysts. After a successful excavation, hundreds of Roman gold coins were discovered beneath a retired theatre in the northern regions of the country. These coins date back to the Roman Imperial Era, and are of huge significance to the history and culture of Europe.

In the basement of the Cressoni Theatre, which closed in 1997, within a stone jar lie hundreds of these golden beauties, all stacked and rolled up the same way banks roll change today. Reports say they were stored in such a way that they would be “easily accessible” should anyone come to need the money. Although forgotten for over 1500 years, they have since been sent to a lab in Milan for further examination.

The value of these coins has not been pinpointed yet, but media reports are already buzzing of the treasure trove’s million dollar net worth. However, even if they are not rich in monetary value, they are rich in history. The Culture Minister from the Heritage and Activities sector said in a statement, “We do not yet know in detail the historical and cultural significance of the find, but that area is proving to be a real treasure for our archeology.”
