Michigan School Gets Donation for Accessible Playground

The Ingham Intermediate School District in Mason, Michigan received a donation on October 11th from The Community Foundation. The $27,900 donation was for the “Hearts of Fun” program, an initiative run by the school district to build new playgrounds to be enjoyed by children with disabilities. The playground will be built at the Heartwood School, and is intended to be a safe, accessible play space for students both with and without disabilities so they can play and learn together.

The cost to build accessible playground equipment is often prohibitively high, so The Community Foundation’s donation has been a welcome boon to the Ingham district. The “Hearts of Fun” fundraiser is ongoing, and all funds received will be put toward producing the best playground possible.
