A Massive Recall Has Been Expanded On Tyson Chicken Products

This isn’t the kind of iron that’s supposed to be in your food.

Tyson has increased the scale of the recall on their chicken products to new proportions. The recall now affects over 11 million pounds of Tyson’s chicken strips.

The recall was originally made due to fragments of metal found in many packages of chicken, including inside the meat itself. The recall was initiated after several customers reported that the metal fragments injured parts of their mouths. During the initial phases of the recall, Tyson said that the company would be recalling 69,000 pounds over the matter. Now, the recall has been expanded to include another 11.8 million pounds of chicken products.

According to Fortune, the back of affected bags should contain the serial number P-7221. The expiration dates on affected products should start at October of 2019, and end in March of 2020. Tyson has stated that anyone who has bought the affected products should throw them out. If the bag hasn’t been opened, you can usually also return it to the grocery store.
