If you’re looking to buy cannabis or cannabis-related products in the US, you can now check the Better Business Bureau for information on a company you’re looking at.

The Better Business Bureau started tracking cannabis businesses earlier in 2019. Now, you can find listings of cannabis companies on the BBB website, meaning that cannabis businesses can be tracked, rated, and reported on. Even if a business isn’t accredited, you can look to the BBB for their files on that business. If a cannabis or related business has any complaints, the BBB is the place where you are currently most likely to find information on them.

There is still no oversight on the American cannabis industry, but the BBB can provide information on any business that they have information on. The American cannabis industry isn’t federally regulated, but you can look first to the BBB then to commercial review platforms like Google reviews. Because the industry is unregulated, the BBB suggests that you give the cannabis business you’re looking at a call and ask them any questions you have. If the company can’t answer simple questions related to safety and quality control, it would usually be best if you shopped elsewhere.

In California, authorities have been increasing the number of raids they’ve been conducting. As the cannabis black market continues to thrive, police have seized over $30 million from illegal cannabis shops.
