How To Ace Your Next Interview

Nerves can be a huge killer when it comes to job interviews, but if you can shake those off, here are the top things you need to do in order to land your dream position.

Admit Your Flaws
No one is perfect. You’re definitely going to be asked about your flaws, so make sure you don’t pretend like you’re this unflawed being. Instead, admit that you have flaws, but explain why you can turn those flaws into strengths, or how working at this specific company can improve upon those flaws.

Don’t Be Haunted By The Past
Left your previous employer on nasty terms? This is a fresh start. Leave it off your resume if you don’t want the employers asking about it, and try to avoid any emotionally charged conversations during your interview, as it could show over-excitement or cockiness.

Research
Know the company you’re interviewing for! Do research, look at their website or even try and connect with previous or current employees before you go into the interview. The more knowledge you have, the better.

Avoid Arrogance
You want to show your interviewers that you’re confident, but not over-confident. Arrogance is a huge turn off, because you’re not going to jump into the job and immediately be the top dog. Realize you have to work your way up, and show the interviewers you are willing to do so.

But Don’t Be Too Calm
Being relaxed can be interpreted as seeming uninterested. Don’t treat your interviewers like familiar faces. Show them poise and respect, or it could kill your chances at getting a call back.

We’ve all made interview mistakes, whether on the phone or in person, so brush up on these top techniques and put yourself out there once again.
