2019 Expected to be a Good Year for the Hemp Industry

2019 is expected to be a good year for the hemp industry. The hemp industry was legalized in the 2018 farm bill, and farmers in Kansas and Missouri have already started growing the crop. Going forward, the farmers and the stores selling hemp are expected to thrive.

Since last year, many hemp/CBD stores have been opening across Kansas and Missouri, and the product has been growing in popularity fast. Over 77,000 acres of hemp were farmed across the US in 2018, and 2019 is expected to see an even larger figure. Both supply and demand for hemp are expected to continue rising into 2019. As demand continues to grow, business owners are expanding and opening new stores. Furthermore, as the industry becomes more active online and more retail locations gain FDA approval, hemp production and profits are expected to rise further.

The hemp industry started taking off in 2014, and interest in hemp products has risen steadily since then. Now that farmers are growing the crop legally, the industry’s outlook appears very positive going forward. Hemp is a relative of cannabis, but contains only a fraction of the THC, the active ingredient in cannabis. Hemp products include gels and skincare products, which can be used to treat acne and moisturize your skin, among other uses.
