Here are some categories to help you out:

  • The moocher: These tend to be the friends who are always forgetting their wallet whenever you go out to dinner or want something at the mall. So, how do you fix this? It’s called the cash deal. You have to know your own budget and know how much you want to spend and when the bill comes pay for your portion and they can pay for there portion.
  • The under-earner: This tends to be the person who may be unemployed or may just be short on cash. You know it’s a legitimate situation and that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with them but make it more frugal.
  • The over spender: This is the person who always has to go shopping, go to the best places, and upstage everyone else. You may not know it but a lot of times these types of people drag you in and they most likely are paying for their splurge-worthy items with their credit cards. Know your own budget and know what you want to spend and what you can afford to spend.
  • The penny pincher: This person is the type of person who usually can’t pass up sales. They are always talking about hey I just saved this and you could of spent this but now you can get it this much off. This person can become the compulsive shopper that binges at the thrift store and draws you in that way as well.
  • The one-upper: We all know one of these people. Know matter what you have or buy, they always need to one up you. For example, if you buy a 50 inch TV, they have to buy a 60 inch. Don’t fall for it, this isn’t elementary school people!
