What’s the Most Profitable Company in the World?

Bloomberg has compiled a list of the world’s most profitable companies.

While the trend in investment seems to be valuing long-term prospects more highly, profitability is still important. Without further ado, here are the world’s most profitable companies.

  1. The most profitable company in the world is currently an oil company, Saudi Arabia’s Aramco. The company produced a net income of $111.1 billion, making them the world’s most profitable company by a large margin. In fact, the $111.1 billion figure dwarfs tech giant Apple, while also dwarfing all other oil companies in the world, including Exxon Mobile. While entertainment and advanced technology are exploding onto the world’s economic stage, good old fashioned natural resources have still produced the world’s most profit.
  2. In second place, Apple produced a net income of $59.5 billion in 2018. The tech giant has made a point of joining the race to become the best streaming service, and has recently launched a myriad of new features and products.
  3. At number 3, Samsung produced a net income of $35.1 billion in 2018. Samsung had a generally good 2018, and the profit margin has reflected that.

The next places on the list go to Alphabet, JP Morgan Chase, Shell, and Exxon Mobile, in that order. Oil, technology, and financial services have produced the world’s most profitable companies for 2018.
