Walking into an interview is always going to be a nervous experience, but being prepared isn’t only going to help ease your nerves. According to GlassDoor, the number one thing that hiring managers want to see in potential job candidates is preparedness. It’s not experience, it’s not a diploma, but it’s the ability to keep control during the interview and ask the right questions at the end. Sure, prior experience in the field always helps, but if you come into the interview with confidence and preparedness, you’ll have just as great of a shot as everyone else applying.
Knowledge of the company’s culture and values is a second priority. This goes beyond just googling and researching the website of your potential employer. This includes reading press releases, reviews, etc. You even will get bonus points if you positively name drop the higher-ups like the CEO according to Moneyish. The more studying you do beforehand, the greater the chance you will have of nailing the interview.
