The Ups and Downs of the Apple Watch Series 3

The reviews for the Apple Watch Series 3 are finally out and they rather mixed. There are some newer, more tech savvy features to this series, no doubt. but it would appear there are some issues that need working on.
Check out some of the ups and downs of the latest Apple Watch:

• GPS capabilities: The Series 3 now features an altimeter. This feature won’t just limit you to how far you go, providing mileage and numbers on how high you traverse (for all you mountain climbing junkies out there).

• Optional cellular connectivity: With this feature, you can now make phone calls on the go from your watch, without your phone. Though, according to a couple of reviews, this capability isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Lauren Goode with The Verge, said “you should call me on my cellphone,” and Joanna Stern with The Wall Street Journal, warned users that they would be lucky if they were able to, “roam on cellular for longer than a day.”
Brian Chen from the New York Times said he can, “confidently recommend people buy,” the product. But, in line with others, he questions whether the cellular capabilities are worth the monthly price.

• Battery life: Wired’s David Pierce cautions users of the limitations of the battery life. If you plan on using the optional cellular connectivity feature, the battery life decreases drastically. According to Pierce, it’s about five hours on LTE.
