Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s latest vehicle Thursday evening, the “Cybertruck.”

The Cybertruck is Tesla’s first passenger truck, and it boasts several new features. In his opening remarks, Musk stated that “Trucks have been the same for a very long time… one hundred years of the same.” As he was delivering his opening speech, the new Tesla was rolled out. The Cybertruck has an industrial look and shape, with a single headlight that takes up the entire front end, and a matching tail light that does the same in the back.

The Cybertruck also boasts several highly practical applications. It can tow up to 14,000 pounds and contains a 100 cubic foot cargo area. According to Musk, the new passenger truck contains the same metal alloy used in Starship, the rocket that SpaceX is developing for travel to Mars.

The Cybertruck’s price starts at just under $40,000, but the display didn’t seem to strike a powerful cord with investors. Shares in Tesla fell 3.5% overnight following the presentation. While many analysts confess the new vehicle is indeed impressive, many feel it lacks mass appeal. There are, however, hopes that this newest addition to the Tesla collection could help push Tesla beyond its traditional market and core customer base.
