Summer Savings Guide 2018

Gas prices are on the rise (again) so it might be a better idea this summer to vacationing close to home. Depending on where you live, there’s a lot of hidden treasures and places you probably haven’t explored. So let’s take a look at some of the best ways to save money this summer.

First, always check for free outings at parks and central locations in your area. Especially if you have kids, they won’t care how much or how little you pay to keep them entertained. They just want to get out of the house! So research some of the upcoming events that have little to no admission cost, such as outdoor plays, movie screenings, etc.

Speaking of movies, signing up for MoviePass this summer might be a great way to hit all the summer blockbusters without taking a hit to the wallet. MoviePass allows subscribers to pay $10.00 a month to see any film they want in participating theaters.

Finally, stop thinking big and extravagant when it comes to summer outings. You don’t need a fancy cruise, an all day shopping spree, or a plane ticket to visit another city or country. Start your summer out by thinking small. Make sure to manage how much money you have coming in versus how many expenses are coming out, especially if that A/C is cranking all day. Find a new spot nearby to visit and get out of the house so you don’t end up spending that extra money on utilities.

No one ever said that summer fun needed to be costly. Manage your time and money well, and 2018 could be the best summer you have in your life.
