Shaky Starts For Spacey’s New Movie

Kevin Spacey has been out of the limelight for a year now after gross allegations were made against him. He decided, this past weekend, to release a new movie that would make career-low history for Spacey. His movie, Billionaire Boys Club, opened in a mere eight theaters in select states across the U.S. This was Spacey’s first release since Baby Driver, an action film that raked in over $20 million in its debut. So are you ready to hear the numbers that Billion Boys Club made in comparison?

$126 dollars. The movie’s first day opening earnings were 126 single dollar bills. Not thousands, or millions. A mere $130 at best. So maybe it was just an opening day bust, and the movie made more over the weekend, right? You’d be wrong. Its 3-day domestic gross was a total of $425. Talk about disappointing.

But does Spacey deserve the hate he’s getting? Clearly, the public thinks he needs to stay out of Hollywood. Its shocking to see a movie debut to such lows, so much that it felt necessary to report for WiseDime. The star has been completely removed from his hit Netflix show, House of Cards, and has been basically been thrown into the shadows. Its unlikely Spacey will make a career comeback after allegations arose against him.
