Kim Kardashian has officially filed trademark papers for her son Psalm West.

Psalm, the newest addition to the family, is still only a few weeks old, but will have what he needs to start a new business under his name.

Kim filed for trademark protection, making Psalm’s name protected and open for use for any number of products. The list of products protected under the trademark include puzzles, baby walkers, mirrors, body oils, nail polishes, fragrances, entertainment services, skin care products, toy figures, collectible trading cards, watches, umbrellas, pillows, cushions, and dozens of other products and services. Public documents confirming all of this are available from the US Patent & Trademark Office’s online database.

The move towards trademark protection is not new to the Kardashian/Jenner family, of course. The names of Kim Kardashian’s other children are also trademarked. Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner have both also trademarked their babies’ names.

The cost of trademarking in this way isn’t as low as many would think. It’s unclear how much Kim paid, but when you look at her net worth it was likely pocket change. An electric trademark filing costs between $200 and $400, with the possibility for another $100 for showing use. There are also other fees which must be paid down the line in order to maintain a trademark. In this case, it was well worth it to invest early.
