Ireland: The Silicon Valley Of Europe?

Big tech names in the U.S. are being attracted to Ireland, helping turn the Emerald Isle into a new Silicon Valley.

The overseas presence of tech giants such as Google has been increasing significantly in recent years. Ireland has been attracting a lot of attention in recent years as a business-friendly place for tech companies to set up shop.

Companies like Apple, Facebook, and Airbnb have had their European headquarters located in Ireland for years already. IBA Ireland is now reporting record levels of investment from the US. The biggest tech companies are only expanding their presence in Ireland, and have been doubling down in recent years. It would also appear that Ireland has already become the go-to location for newer tech companies trying to gain a stronger presence in Europe.

There are currently 700 US companies with offices in Ireland, which is a significant figure. 265 of those companies are from Silicon Valley. Ireland is in many ways ideally situated. The island country has a business-friendly tax code, has had free education for decades, and as part of the EU has access to a massive talent pool. Ireland’s broader immigration system is credited for being quite business-friendly as well.
