  • Eating out: Eating out can be a great time to hang out with friends and family, but, has it become a habit for you? What would you do with an extra $1,820 a year? Think about it.
  • Use your own ATM: Finding the closest ATM to where you are may not be convenient but it is definitely the most cost effective option. There is no excuse for not finding your closest bank ATM. There are so many apps out there that allow you to GPS your closest bank to avoid those terrible out of network ATM fees because paying money to get your own money is just silly!.
  • Thinking you’re going to win the lottery?: Forget about it. Playing the lottery can be a thrill but the chances of you winning are slim to none. Scratch offs are one of the leading causes of money struggles and they can land you up in a lot of trouble. Stay away from the dreaded scratch offs and save your extra cash. Believe it or not the average person spends $10-20 a week on lottery tickets.

Next time you head out and about, take time to think about how you can save some extra money. Take the time to cook your meals, go to your bank’s ATM, and quit playing the lottery. These three simple steps may not seem like a big deal but every dollar matters in times like these.
