Getting Started As An Entrepreneur

My roommate is an Entrepreneurship major in college. I always wonder to myself, a Communication major, what exactly one does with that specific major. Self-made entrepreneur Sean Cooper shares his three best tips for becoming an entrepreneur so that we can all better understand what it means to become solo administrator in today’s economy.

Cooper’s first tip, before quitting your 9-5 job of course, is to make sure you’re fully prepared. This means mentally you know what you’re doing, and physically you have what it takes to dedicate a lot of your upcoming life to building your own success story. The downfall of most entrepreneurs is their own faultiness when it comes to hard work.

Next, Cooper recommends making a planner to stay on task. Keep a daily, weekly, and even monthly to-do list so you know where you are in the process and what tasks are ahead. Always have a plan for how you’re going to take down some of your biggest obstacles.

Finally, Cooper says its important to have a “side hustle.” In layman’s terms, he means a side job. Find a simple yet effective way to make money while building your business so that you can stay ahead of debt and other financial worries.
