Forbes has released their list of top paid entertainers, and it’s surprising to see just how much money these celebrities are making annually. Let’s break down the top three, and why they had such a successful year.
1. Floyd Mayweather
In August 2017, Mayweather went head to head with Connor McGregor in one of the most anticipated fights in history. Mayweather came out victorious, pulling in a large sum of money, despite many people thinking he was down and out for the count. In total, Mayweather pulled in $285 million in the last fiscal year.
2. George Clooney
Not only is he an amazing and high-paid actor, Clooney was also founder of the Casamigos tequila company. He recently sold the company to help raise his already high earnings, but was not able to beat out Dwayne Johnson as the top paid actor of the year (a title “The Rock” has held for two years in a row).
3. Kylie Jenner
Kylie lip kits, cosmetics, and all Kardashian-branded shows make Kylie Jenner mad money. She is on track to be the youngest self-made billionaire in the United States.
Other contenders in the top ten include soccer players Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo, as well as Judge Judy. Each are making over $100 million a year, which just goes to show you that owning a tequila company or yelling at dumb people on TV can be the most rewarding jobs in the entertainment industry nowadays.
