Dollar Stores Are Still Thriving Businesses

Brick and mortar sales have been dropping ever since online shopping took over. But, not all retailers are suffering. Despite the downfall of many department stores in the United States, dollar stores are still thriving. According to Business Insider, not only are dollar stores doing well, they’re continuing to do better.

According to Business Insider, “Dollar General has become one of the most profitable retailers in the US by opening more locations in places across the country that have continued to struggle economically.”

An increase of around $15 billion from 2010 to 2015 occurred, as dollar store sales grew from $30.4 billion to $45.3 billion in the US. It would seem that people are willing to pay much less when the option is available to them.
