Citi ‘Thank You’ Rewards Point Guide

As a Citi credit card owner, I’m always looking for the rewards that will be most beneficial to my savings. Their rewards points system is not only flexible and versatile, but it is easy to accumulate massive amounts of points in short periods of time due to bonuses and events. So if you’re racked up on a pile of points and you aren’t sure what to do with them, here’s your guide.

Put It Towards Your Purchases
The coolest thing about Citi’s reward program is that you can actually pay off certain transactions directly with your points. If you don’t want any material items or gift cards, this is a great way to use your rewards to help lower your credit card bill.

Pay Bills
With Citi’s online bill pay system, you can use a combination of cash and points to pay off your bills so that they don’t sneak up on you. Even lowering or eliminating one bill a month because of points can lift a heavy load off your wallet.

Donations
Feeling Generous? You can make donations to charities and funds that you support with your points in order to give back to those less fortunate. It’s a great way to contribute to society if you don’t have time to volunteer your work.

Travel
Book airfare, cruises, vacations, or whatever your heart desires. There’s a whole world out there to explore, and Citi wants you to see it all. Rack up enough points and you can go wherever you want.

All these options make for great uses for an awesome rewards program. My one piece of advice is to not use them to transfer into cash directly or gift cards, as the conversion rate is a lot lower than you might expect. These are usually the low-tier rewards that members can choose from.
