Carlos Ghosn Reportedly Approved For $9 Million Bail

After having spent months in a Japanese detention center, a local court has finally approved Carlos Ghosn’s release on bail. He has now been released on a bail of $9 million.

Carlos Ghosn was the architect of the Renault-Nissan alliance, and went on to serve as Nissan Chairman. The auto superpower has since stood as a strong example of successful business diplomacy and collaboration. Unfortunately that alliance has been shaken by the scandal sparked by allegations surrounding Ghosn. Ghosn is alleged to have falsified financial information, alongside accusations of breach of trust. The allegations have kept the former executive in detention since last fall.

After months of drama, Nissan and Renault have resolved to work together to improve corporate leadership and have taken several initiatives together. Despite a somewhat tense situation, Nissan and Renault have demonstrated outstanding business diplomacy once again.
