Bruno Mars will Donate 24,000 Thanksgiving Dinners to Hawaiians

Popular singer Bruno Mars has spent over a year on his 24K Magic World Tour, which will finally be drawing to a close at the end of next month. Before then, though, Mars would like to provide aid to those affected by tropical storms in his home state of Hawaii.

Mars announced yesterday that, to go along with the name of his tour, he will be donating 24,000 Thanksgiving dinners worth of food to residents of Hawaii. The islands are still recovering from tropical storm Olivia back in September, and many families do not have the time or money to assemble a meal for Thanksgiving this year. Mars has donated money to the Salvation Army’s Hawaiian and Pacific division, which regularly performs a food drive for the island, to facilitate the purchase and distribution of the Thanksgiving food. Mars was recently in Hawaii for another leg of the Magic World Tour, performing three shows over the weekend at Honolulu’s 50,000-seating Aloha Stadium. Before the shows, Mars had some uplifting words for his Instagram: “Let’s have a good time tonight Hawaii! Most importantly, let’s show love and aloha to everyone driving down and attending the concert. I’ve missed you all and I can’t wait to perform and sing on the island I call home. See you tonight!!”
