Beyonce & Adidas Partner Up

The superstar will now be representing her Ivy Park athleisure brand at Adidas.

A new partnership between Adidas and Beyonce has been announced. Beyonce will be the most famous person to join Adidas’ ranks as she promotes her clothing brand.

Beyonce has already signed an agreement with Adidas which will re-launch the Ivy Park brand under the Adidas flagship. Ivy Park clothing used to be sold at Topshop before Adidas was made its new home. The collection was launched in 2016 as a joint venture offering apparel that ranges in price from $25 to $265. Ivy Park went on to buy out its remaining stake in Topshop parent company Arcadia Group last year. Adidas has added in a statement that the company “…respects Beyoncé’s ownership of her company which continues her journey as one of the first black women to be the sole owner of an athleisure brand.”

Apparel retailers often seek partnerships with celebrities in order to improve their brand image. While single-store locations and smaller chains often focus their outreach on direct response marketing and local/TV ads, big brands like Adidas generally focus on their publicity, trying to remain ubiquitous in the mind of the average consumer.
