Bank Service Savings

These days, many of us expect free checking and free ATMs from our banks, right? Well, your so-called free checking account may actually end up costing you if you don’t read the fine print. Were all guilty of that at one point or another and most free accounts come with conditions. Here are some of the most common ones:

  • Minimum balance: Many banks may not tell you but if you fall below their minimum balance you will receive a service fee that will get added on automatically to your account.
  • Check fees: You maybe able to save some extra cash and order your checks from a private company. Getting them from your bank may end up in a fee added to your account without your notice.
  • Banking at a teller: Most banks won’t tell you but some have a policy that goes a long with using their teller. Yes, that’s right, you maybe charged a fee because you’re talking to a real person. Now, banks wan you to do your banking online at no cost.

When banking it is important to know when and for what you will be charged. A lot of times banks neglect to tell you about fees but expect you to know about them. So, before joining a bank or making transactions, be sure you know their policy and read their fine print before you sign your money away.
