‘Avengers: Endgame’ Nets Over $2 Billion in Less Than a Month

One could perhaps say it was… inevitable?

The entertainment industry has been picking up the pace in a truly remarkable manner for some time now. Marvel’s hot streak is far from over, and as proof of that, the newest Avengers entry just broke another cinema record.

Avengers: Endgame has become the fastest film in history to cross the $2 billion mark. The film made $2.189 billion in the first 11 days alone, so there could be even more records just waiting to be broken. If this sounds exciting, let’s slow down and consider that Endgame is also just the fifth film in history to make over $2 billion.

Avengers: Endgame made over $428 million in its second weekend, which includes $146 million coming from North America. The film also made $1.2 billion during the opening weekend while also breaking records in North America. Furthermore, Endgame is already the second highest grossing movie of all time, and is currently lagging behind 2009’s ‘Avatar’ by $600 million. The only thing that might slow down Endgame‘s momentum is the onslaught of summer blockbusters that are expected in the coming months, including Marvel’s own Spider-Man: Far From Home.
